Borgo
degli Ulvi
is situated in the Commune of Palazzolo Acreide, and enjoys a privileged
position in the heart of the Sicilian Baroque, recognised as part of the
cultural heritage of UNESCO. Within a range of only a few kilometres are
some splendid centres of Baroque architecture: Noto, Modica, Ragusa, Ibla,
Scicli, Caltagirone and Buccheri.

Only
a short distance away is the important necropolis of Pantalica and the archaeological
sites of Syracuse, with a museum which houses the biggest coin collection
in the Mediterranean, the Greek-Roman amphitheatre used for classical drama,
the temples of Apollo and Minerva, etc. and the archaeological sites of
Elro, Megera, Hibla and the antique Noto.
Not far away is the museum town of Buscemi, which illustrates the local
traditions and is of great ethnographical and anthropological interest.
Then there is the natural beauty of this region: the sea in the marine reserve
of Vendicari, the golden beaches of Fontane Bianche and the rocks of Cala
Bernardo, the volcanic lakes of Cava Grande del Cassibile and the park of
Ciane.
