To that add the wealth of Baroque architecture: particularly the church of S. Francesco d'Assisi founded in 1226 and reconstructed in Baroque style, the Corte Capitale which dates back to the 16th century, the princely palace of the Municipality, the Jesuit church and the church of S. Giacomo, built in 1090 and rebuilt after the earthquake of 1693. From the church of S. Maria del Monte we descend the imposing and spectacular flight of steps built in 1608.
